Captain Andy JakielIn today's must win game, the Cougars came ready to play. It was silent as the team waited for the vans this afternoon; everyone knowing what needed to be done. With the chilly Michigan air blowing in our faces, we stormed into the rink with elimination in the back of our minds. Today was a test of what we are made of, and we prevailed. The Cougars owned the entire game and proved victorious with a score of 4 to 1. We have shown everyone, including ourselves, we are the team to beat. The scene is set for tomorrow's fanale with the semi-finals and final game all in one day. The Cougars are more motivated than ever and will bring the championship home! Stay tuned!

Captain Andy Jakiel's blog continued...
It is Wednesday March 10th, 2011 and the Cougars are anything but happy about their performance thus far. Yesterday, we won 4 to 3 against Fredonia in a frustrating game. Although we got the win, the team is very disappointed with our play. It is a bitter-sweet feeling knowing we have a lot to improve on, but also that we are one win closer to bringing home the championship. However, today will be a fresh start for the Cougars and a day for redemption for the team. It is suppose to snow today here in beautiful Holland, Michigan and hopefully that will put us in the mood for a good old game of hockey. We have to send a message in today's game that we belong here and we are the team to beat. The game is against Loyola-Maryland at 4pm ET. Stayed tuned!

A special exclusive addition to the Canyons Hockey website: National Tournament Blog by COC Captain Andy Jakiel
Captain Andy JakielMike Richmond Ending Practice EarlyThis is Andy Jakiel from your Cougars hockey team, keeping you updated on our 2011 National Tournament in Holland, Michigan. We are traveling half way across the country to take home the National championship. If we bring home the trophy, this would be the first National championship in school history. Today started off with a rough 4:30am wake-up call to make our journey to the mid-west. It is hard to comment on the teams mood because everyone is still half asleep, but everyone looks ready to play. It's a very typical day at the airport with a hockey team. Greasy food. Guys sleeping on bags. And the occasional ''yo, what up'' to a pretty girl walking by. However, we are all business this trip and looking forward to bringing home the cup for COC and California. We have a late practice tonight at 10:30pm to help get our legs moving again after a long day of travel. It will be good to throw some sauce and pull a dangle or two before our first game. We face-off tomorrow against Fredonia at 4:00pm ET. Stay tuned!
