July 2007
Registering early for classes is critical if you have a desire to play for the team; without early registration, your chances of getting the 12 units you want, at the times you want, is nearly impossible. In fact, most players said that it’s worth the cost of the Club dues simply for this privilege. Anyway, here’s what you need to do.
Complete an Application for Admission. This is done Online at:
http://www.canyons.edu/offices/Admissions/NewStudents.asp. Follow steps 1 through 5 ONLY
Take the Placement Tests for Math and English. This has to be done on campus, in our computer lab. It takes from 45 minutes to 2 hours. You only have to do this once while you’re a student here and is the most time-consuming step in the entire registration process. Specific info about this step can be found at:http://www.canyons.edu/offices/CPT/ContactInfo.asp
Complete the Online Orientation. You can do this at home or while you’re here taking the Placement Tests. Go here for information: http://www.canyons.edu/offices/matric/Orientation/.
Let me know AS SOON AS YOU’VE FINISHED THE PROCESS!!
Pick your classes, fill out the form I’ll give you when you have completed steps 1-3 and return the form to me. The fall schedule is already online at: http://www.canyons.edu/info/schedule/Schedules.asp (2007 Fall) OR, and this is what I suggest, you use the paper copies that you got in the mail. If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, I have some here in my office as well. I’ll be happy to help you with whatever questions you may have about classes. If you need a Counselor, the team has been assigned Bob Segui at 661-362-3988. Counseling appointments can be made on line as well at: http://www.canyons.edu/offices/Counseling/Appointments.asp. (Please note that new students may not be able to get an appointment with a counselor but will be able to get program advisement – help in choosing classes – through the counseling office on the main campus).
- All of this needs to be done PRIOR TO July 9; Special registration is done July 9-10. After that, there are no guarantees!
- Feel free to cruise our web site for more info about the college (http://www.canyons.edu/) and for other New Student info, http://www.canyons.edu/offices/Admissions/NewStudents.asp
- After you’re registered, I’ll let you know how much you owe; you’ll have 7 days to pay once your classes are registered. If you don’t pay within that time, your classes will disappear and you’ll have to pick all new classes – I can guarantee that if this happens, you’ll never be able to get those same classes again. Important to pay timely, OK?
Although it sounds complicated, it’s really an easy, painless 3-step process that you can knock out in half a day. If you need any assistance, feel free to contact coc.hockey@canyons.edu.
